Dr. C. Ranjan Nath, MD is one of the nation's leading endocrinologists with over 25 years of clinical experience and offices across the Hudson Valley in both Westchester County and Dutchess County, NY. In 2005, Dr. C. Ranjan Nath, MD  founded the Diabetes & Metabolism Center at Phelps Memorial Hospital, thereafter taking the reigns as Medical Director and Chief of Endocrinology. In assembling a team of distinguished physicians under his leadership, Dr. Nath has been instrumental in the strategic expansion of the center, establishing one of the nation's largest diabetic patient bases and tending to the cardiometabolic complications of well over twenty thousand unique endocrine patients. 


Prior to leading Mount Sinai Hospital's Endocrine Division from the mid 1990's to the mid 2000's, with a primary office along the Upper East Side on Park Ave., Dr. Nath served as the Director of the Lipid Clinic at The Rockefeller University in- New York, New York, one of the world's foremost biomedical research institutions. Throughout his years at The Rockefeller University, Dr. Nath was also immersed in actively mentoring and educating the next generation of physicians at Weil Cornell Medical Center, where he served as an Associate Professor of Endocrinology. 


Presently, Dr. Nath serves as a senior attending physician at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Westchester County and acts as a consultant to Mt. Sinai hospital in Manhattan. Dr. Nath is also an esteemed Founding Faculty Member of the Family Medicine Residency Program at New York Medical College. 


 Dr. C. Ranjan Nath attended India's premier medical school, Kasturba Medical College of India and thereafter completed his Residency & Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Dr. Nath holds Dual Board Certification in both Internal Medicine as well as Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Endocrinology and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 


Noted for the broad scope and depth of his vast medical expertise, Dr. Nath's distinguished background and cardiovascular oriented medical research at Rockefeller University's Lipid Clinic has facilitated the expansion of his celebrated medical practice which extends far beyond the realm of solely endocrinology and deep into the field of cardiology as well.  Dr.Nath has presented his works of scholarship both at the national and international level and is also published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.


A key opinion leader in the fields of both endocrinology and cardiology, Dr. Nath lends his cutting edge clinical expertise as a national speaker and senior consultant to many of the world's largest biopharmaceutical companies.  He has played an integral role in the national product launches of several blockbuster cholesterol-lowering drugs including Pfizer’s Lipitor and AstraZeneca’s Crestor, as well as numerous renowned anti-diabetic drugs including Merck’s Januvia and Sanofi’s long-acting insulin pen Lantus. Dr. Nath frequently travels across the U.S. raising awareness and lecturing extensively on Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular Disease, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension and Metabolic Syndrome.


On June 18th, 2009, the American Diabetes Association in conjunction with Westchester County New York’s Board of Legislators, honored Dr. Nath at the Tappan Hill Mansion, presenting him with a lifetime achievement award and his very own day, “Dr. Nath Day”, to be celebrated annually on June 19th in Westchester County, New York, thereby commemorating his vast contributions to society as a preeminent physician, community leader and philanthropist. With the gala moderated by CBS News Anchor Mary Calvi, esteemed dignitaries and ADA donors in attendance included NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Judge Jeanine Pirro, both of whom expressed vehement support for Dr. Nath’s unremitting championing of the fight against the global diabetes epidemic. Dr. Nath was also the American Diabetes Association 2009 recipient of the prestigious Father of the Year Award acknowledging his exemplary service to the community while concurrently balancing family and a demanding professional life.


 Dr. Nath has garnered widespread recognition for his vast contributions to society as a distinguished medical doctor, scholar, educator, author and philanthropist. He has appeared on various national media outlets including CBS, ABC and NBC as a featured medical expert. He is listed in the Marquis’s Who’s Who in the World, Marquis’s Who’s Who in America in Medicine and Healthcare as well as the 2007-2017 Editions of The Top Physicians in America. As a testament to his loyal patient base, Dr. Nath was named as the 2018 recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award, the 2018 recipient of the Most Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award and most recently was honored with the Hudson Valley's Favorite Doc Award.


In his spare time, Dr.Nath enjoys playing tennis and golf but most importantly cherishes spending quality time with his wife and son. Dr. Nath's wife, Dr. Santoshi Nath, MD, is also a fellow practicing medical specialist, Partner of a thriving Multi-Specialty Medical Practice in Orange County, NY and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. They have one child, their pride and joy- Ankith Nath, a distinguished alumnus of Emory University, who presently works in Midtown Manhattan, within Deloitte's Office of the General Counsel, as a Senior Corporate Legal Analyst, focusing primarily on Corporate Governance & Cross-Border M&A. Most recently, Dr. Nath's son- Ankith, was appointed by Emory University's senior leadership, to represent his alma mater as University Ambassador at the 2018 Hope Global Forums, an MSNBC TV CEO Thought-Leadership Conference formerly addressed by 42nd US President Bill Clinton in 2015. Dr. Nath is immensely proud to have been recruited by his very own son, Ankith, to give the 2018 Diabetes and Obesity Keynote Address at the 2018 Hope Global Forums Dr.Nath and his family maintain a primary residence on a lakefront estate in Westchester County.
